Welcome to class! To help you succeed this year, I want to share a clear overview of what I expect from you and how your work will be evaluated. Keeping these guidelines in mind will help you stay on track and achieve your best.
Classroom Expectations
Respect – Treat classmates, teachers, and yourself with courtesy at all times.
Participation – Contribute thoughtfully to discussions, both in class and online.
Preparedness – Bring required materials, complete readings, and meet deadlines.
Effort – Show consistent effort in journals, assignments, and projects.
Integrity – Submit your own work and give credit when referencing others.
Basic Rubric (for Journals, Assignments, & Projects)
Category | Excellent (A) | Proficient (B–C) | Needs Improvement (D–F) |

Keys to Success
Write regularly: Journals are your space to explore and reflect—don’t wait until the last minute.
Engage actively: The more you contribute to discussions, the more you’ll learn.
Ask questions: Never hesitate to reach out if you’re unsure about something.
Take pride in your work: Aim for growth and improvement, not just grades.
Remember:
You can always submit your Journal Entries and Assignments on the GottaDiscuss.com Blog, and use the class discussion form to share your thoughts with your peers.
Let’s make this year one of learning, growth, and success together!
